The Luxembourg passport is recognised as one of the world's most powerful travel documents. As of 2025, it ranks 4th among the top globally, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 188 countries. Passport Validity for Adults and Children

The validity of a Luxembourg passport depends on the age of the holder at issuance:

• Adults (age 18 and older): Valid for 10 years from the date of issue.

• Children (under 4 years): Valid for 2 years.

• Children (ages 4-17): Valid for 5 years. ​

Physical Appearance and Design

Colour: Burgundy red- standard for EU member state passports.
