Validity Period for Adults and Children 

• Standard Validity: All Finnish passports are valid for 5 years, regardless of age.

• No 10-Year Option: Finland does not issue 10-year passports, even for adults.

• Emergency Passports: Issued for urgent travel, valid for up to 1 year.

• Military Service Exception: Male citizens under 30 who haven’t completed military service may receive a valid passport until age 28.
